Biography[]
Early life[]
Justine Lupe-Schomp[1] was born on May 31, 1989, in Denver, Colorado.[2] Her father, John Lupe, is an artist who formerly worked as a teacher and installation manager at the Denver Art Museum.[3] Her grandmother, Kay Schomp (1917–2000), was a long-standing education and arts activist known as the "founding mother" of the Denver School of the Arts (DSA).[4] Lupe graduated from the DSA in 2007,[1][5] and from The Julliard School, where she studied acting, in 2011 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts.[6]

In her earlier years, Lupe appeared in films such as Not Fade Away (2012) and the Noah Baumbach comedy Frances Ha (2013) and television series such as NBC's Harry's Law (2012), Showtime's Shameless (2013), and Stephen King's Mr. Mercedes (2017–2019). In 2018, she was cast as Willa Ferreyra, the former escort and much younger girlfriend of Connor Roy, in HBO's Succession. It was intended that she appear in only three episodes; however, the producers were very pleased with her performance as Willa and decided to expand the role.[7] She has since appeared in Home Economics (2021–2022) and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (2017–2023), and in films such as The Luckiest Girl Alive (2022).
