Eric Bogosian is an American actor, playwright, and novelist. He portrays Gil Eavis, a left-wing United States senator, on Succession.

Life & career[]

Bogosian was born on April 24, 1953 in Boston, Massachusetts. He spent his early childhood in Watertown, home to a large Armenian-American community along with his grandparents, who survived the Armenian genocide. His family then moved to Woburn when Bogosian was 7 years old. He became interested in theatre at his high school in Woburn. He then attended the University of Chicago before graduating from Oberlin College, a private liberal arts school.[1]

Bogosian has written numerous original plays, some of which have been adapted into films as well. Between 1980 and 2000, he performed six off-Broadway solos, all of which written by himself, garnering him three Obie Awards. He made his television and film debuts in 1983 and 1985, respectively.

Trivia[]

  • Bogosian is the writer of "subUrbia," a play based on his childhood spend in Woburn.[2] In 2006, the play was present edwith Bogosian's future Sucession co-star, Kieran Culkin, as the lead.
