Connor Roy is Logan Roy’s eldest son from his first marriage and is uninterested in the demands of navigating Waystar’s internal politics, instead preferring the libertine lifestyle he leads at his ranch.

Early Life[]

Connor Roy was interested in politics at a very young age.[1]

Season 1[]

Everyone is preparing for Logan's 80th birthday. Logan Roy and Greg Hirsch ride the elevator together and are greeted by his entire family. Logan absentmindedly thanks everyone and introduces Greg. He declines to open the gift Connor continuously presents to him. Eventually, Connor shows off the container of sourdough starter, a way to make traditional bread without yeast like back in Scotland. [2]

Logan calls for a meeting and presents his children with papers to sign, leaving his wife Marcia as Successor to the company and have his vote when he dies. He also announces he will not be stepping down, adding Kendall has already signed the papers, while everyone wants their lawyers to look over the papers. Ken is upset at being tricked and a fight breaks out between the siblings. After dinner, they have their traditional game of baseball. After the game, Logan insists his four children ride in the helicopter with him where everyone gets into another fight until Logan begins to have a stroke. [2] At the hospital, the doctor informs them Logan had a hemorrhagic stroke and is currently unconscious and unresponsive. A debate breaks out among the siblings about whether they should move Logan to a more private and secure hospital but they are overruled by Marcia Roy. Meanwhile, Connor thinks it would be a good idea if they sign the papers for their dad, but Shiv and Kendall disagree. Connor brings his girlfriend Willa Ferreyra of whom the family does not approve. Eventually, Kendall is offered CEO and Roman becomes COO right after Logan wakes up. [3] Weeks later Shiv, Connor and Tom come to their father's apartments but are turned away by Marcia. [4]

Willa accompanies Connor to The Roy Family Charity Function he is helping put on. Connor runs over everything involved in the event, including the table settings, the food, and the teleprompter. While doing so, he notices mistakes in all three. The most important was the last-minute note that was added about his dad's early retirement. He quickly informed his father, who takes care of it. [5] Weeks later, Willa is invited to Thanksgiving dinner at The Roy Family household. Connor later asks Willa to be exclusive, and she reluctantly agrees. [6]

Logan is ambushed by the Vote Of No Confidence but refuses to leave the room, instead strong-arming more people to vote with him and not with his son, Kendall. Frank Vernon and a bunch of other people vote against Logan, but everyone else votes for him, including his son Roman. Logan stays and immediately fires everyone who voted against him, including Kendall. [7] In an effort to fix his public image, Logan agrees to a weekend-long family therapy session at Connor's New Mexico ranch, Austerlitz. Unbeknownst to most of the Roy family, he's arranged to have it double as a publicity stunt. By the end the second day everyone is mad at each other. Logan insults Tom, which upsets Shiv, and she leaves crying. Ken arrives intoxicated and starts picking a few fights, even insulting Willa. Before the end of the weekend, Connor is pushing for more exclusivity with Willa and wants her to move in with him and travel between his ranch and New York. Promising to give her an allowance and help her with her career in the theatre. Though unspoken, he wants her to give up being an escort. He confesses he loves her and she reluctantly agrees. [8]

Everyone is getting ready for Tom's bachelor party. The party is put together by Roman, who originally wanted it to be in Prague, but dropped the ball. The whole gang meets in the middle of nowhere. Ken shows up late and possibly on drugs. Connor is annoyed they aren’t going to Prague, as he had been setting up his circadian rhythm for the past two weeks. The night ends with everyone rounding up and making fun of Tom. [9] The Roy Family assembles in England for Shiv and Tom’s wedding. The children reunite with their mother, Caroline Collingwood. Willa and Connor are talking to the priest, Willa says she's a playwright and jokes that Connor doesn't do anything. He is hurt at this. While going over plans with Shiv, he says instead of Logan, he'll give Shiv away. [10] On the day of the wedding their entire families have gathered to take photos. There is a small squabble when Shiv and Tom Wambsgans ask that Willa not be in the sibling / partner photo, however, Connor says he is prepared to make a scene, so they allow it. [11] Later, Connor informs Willa that he wants to run as Present of the United States, and promises that they will cover up her sordid past. The reception finally starts and all of the Roys give a nice speech to the couple. Afterward, Logan gathers his kids to inform them of Ken's decision to take over the company. All the siblings are very mad at him, and after a couple of minutes, Ken walks in. He confirms everything is true, then informs them of his battle plan. Later, Connor reveals he wants to run for president sooner rather than later. Everyone is both surprised and uninterested. [11]

Season 2[]

After trying to take-over the family business, Kendall has fallen back in line and makes a news channel appearance for the world to watch. Insisting “I saw their plan that his fathers was better.” At the end of year family vacation, The Roy children demand to know why Ken is allowed so easily back into the family fold. Logan genuinely asks what he should do with his company, buy, or sell it. Connor wants his father to keep the company, as it would look better for him when he runs for president. A few others voice their opinions, but Logan opts for private conversations in his office so they can speak their mind. After dinner Logan leaves early and takes Ken with him. [12]

Everyone is celebrating Ken's daughter's birthday when Shiv, Roman and Kendall are called away for an impromptu meeting with Logan. Connor comments on how quick they are to serve him. That night, Connor and Willa Ferreyra host a soirée to mark their return to New York. Though in reality, Connor is quietly announcing his political campaign. He doesn't tell anyone directly in the room but makes sure the idea is sitting at the edge of their minds. The next day, Connor shares his presidential campaign video to his family. He wants to get rid of taxes. Logan sends Shiv to talk her brother down. Shiv tells him not to run for president based on a no-tax campaign. He says he’ll think about it, before asking her to come work for him. Later that day Connor releases his campaign video. [13]

Connor and Willa are getting ready for Moe’s funeral. Connor is excited as for the opportunity to talk with people and make a few deals with big investors. At the funeral, Willa calls Lester Moe to his wife, as Connor forgot his real name was Lester and was given the nickname Moe, short for molester, something he was guilty of doing. Connor also mentions his wife wants him to give an eulogy, adding no one else will be coming to the funeral as they are currently in the middle of a lockdown at work. Willa reminds him that Michelle Pantsil has joined the funeral, and convinces Connor to change his eulogy so as not be mixed in with Moe later during his Presidential run. [1]

The Roy children all return from England, and Logan gathers them at his place to announce they will be buying Pierce Media. But before the family will agree to anything, they will be spending the weekend with them. He demands a sharp and crisp image from everyone. The family fly to meet the Pierce family, and soon start to mingle. Connor and Willa talk to Maxim Pierce as they are both into politics. It becomes clear that Connor is out of his league. Not long after, Logan heard his family into a small room for a quick meeting. He tells everyone to do better, scolds Shiv for her rude joke, and tells Connor to stop talking politics before he ushers everyone back out.[14]

That night at dinner Connor again becomes frustrated when talking politics while Ken reminds him to keep his temper. The question of who will succeed Logan comes up and Shiv announces it will be her. Her brothers are surprised, and Logan, in a spout of anger, quickly shuts down the conversation. An awkward silence ensues, until Nan Pierce suggests everyone go for a walk. The next day they find out the deal is off, however, by the time they fly back home. Logan gets a phone call that the Pierce family has changed their minds. [14]

Everyone is gathered for the opening of Sand written by Willa. The couple each give a small speech and Willa admits the play's dialogue is still 40% unfinished. Meanwhile, Kendall has his eye on the lead actress Jennifer. The next day they are doing a voice recording for their father's upcoming 50th anniversary in Scotland. In the waiting rooms Shiv brings up her distrust of Rhea, but her brothers aren't interested. Kendall walks in and silently boasts about his one-night stand before Connor goes into the recording booth to make a heartfelt message to his father.

Logan is riding shotgun as he passes through his old hometown. It is clear his memories are not all good ones. Later while standing outside an old brick building they are surprised at the nice-looking home Logan grew up in. Logan arrives and, after a quick look from his car window, leaves. That night Kendall is in bed with Jennifer but interrupted by Connor, demanding he sends Willa's lead actress back. Kendall doesn't care.

At the celebration, Connor asks Logan if he wants to invest in Willa's play, as the reviews are in and it is sure to be a hit, but are interrupted. Later everyone is gathered for speeches where Ken surprises everyone with a rap, showing off his jersey underneath his dress jacket. During the kid's video speeches, Logan is interrupted multiple times. First by Conor and then Shiv. After, Logan makes his way to the stage and announces Rhea as his new successor. Much to the shock and surprise of everyone. [15]

Weeks later, Logan and his male family members are gathered to watch whose names will be racked across coals in the cruise line sex scandal. Moe’s name is brought up, followed by Gerri’s, and Tom's. [16] Weeks later, Connor and Willa arrive on the yacht but are still discussing her play, deciding to ignore all reviews for the next week, though Connor seems to be aware that he is losing money from her pet project. Days later, Connor comes to his father to ask for money for Willa's play, something he'd been trying to ask his father about for a while but his dad kept avoiding the question. Logan agrees to give him a couple million dollars, provided he drops his campaign to become president. Connor reluctantly agrees. That day while relaxing, Logan tells them to enjoy themselves and be ready for dinner soon. Everyone is on edge at his comment. Frank, Connor and Willa all question what he means.[17]

The next day at breakfast Logan announces they need a blood sacrifice to give to the wolves. He doesn't say who, but asks for ideas on what to do, promising whoever did volunteer would be taken care of. Everyone tippy-toes about giving up a name after theirs has been called. Everyone begins to slowly talk more and more poorly about each other, and soon Connor sacrifices himself, volunteering to do prison time for his father. Logan thanks him, but confirms he isn't a big enough fish. Logan soon breaks it up. Telling everyone it's enough conversation for now. That night at dinner Logan announces that Ken will be the one taking the fall. Ken tells everyone not to worry and that they should all do enjoy themselves. The rest of the dinners remains very quiet. [17]
