Arian Moayed is an Iranian-American actor. He portrayed Stewy Hosseini, private equity investor and longtime friend of Kendall Roy, on Succession.
Biography[]
Early life[]
Arian Moayed was born on April 15, 1980, in Tehran, Iran. He and his family emigrated in 1986, settling in Glenview, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago, when Moayed was five years old. He is fluent in Persian as well as English.[1]
Education and career[]
After high school, he went on to study at Indiana State University, graduating in 2002 with a Bachelor's degree. During college, he appeared in several theatre productions. He then moved to Manhattan, where he and his roommate from college, director Tom Ridgley, founded the Waterwell, a theater, education, and film company. Waterwell has produced more than a dozen stage productions over the years, many of which Moayed has produced himself.[2]
Moayed himself has continued acting on stage while appearing in several films and television series. He has also written and directed short films.
Personal life[]
He is married to actress Krissy Shields, with whom he has two daughters.[2] They currently reside in New York City.
