History[]
Season 1[]
At Tom and Shiv's wedding, a waiter (Andrew) asks Logan Roy if he would like more champagne and he absentmindedly agrees, but the champagne is accidentally poured on his hand and arm. He snaps and fires the young boy, demanding he be kicked out immediately.
Kendall runs into Andrew, the caterer his father fired earlier, outside. They talk about his being fired while sharing a joint, Ken then asking for some "powder." The two then go to a car, where Andrew snorts a line of ketamine. Kendall asks for cocaine instead but Andrew doesn't have any. He claims he knows a guy who does not far away and can take him there, but is too high to drive. Kendall decides to drive. On the drive, Kendall talks about his family's riches and the kid jokes that he should kidnap him. Kendall is distracted trying to work with the stick-shift when Andrew sees a deer ahead of them. He grabs for the wheel, causing the car to swerve and go off the side of the bridge, into a pond. The car immediately sinks but Kendall is able to make it out. He stares back at the water wondering what to do before ultimately making his way back to the estate, where he breaks into the apartment he is staying at, having lost his key card in the accident. He then proceeds to scrub clean his clothes, take a shower, get redressed and rejoin the wedding party as though nothing had ever happened. The next morning at breakfast Gregg tells Kendall that one of the catering staff was involved in a car crash and presumably has died. Logan reiterates that there was a crash, and that a key card belonging to Kendall was found near where Andrew was located, Logan asks Kendall if he knew anything about it ( to see Kendalls reaction ). He then tells him to call off his deal with Sandy and to go to the desert to dry himself out. Kendal breaks down, telling his father that he's sorry while falling into his dads embrace, Logan tells him "You're my boy, you're my number one boy" before calling for Colin to assist Kendall out of the room. Kendall then leaves the room shaken at causing Andrews death and ultimately bringing shame on the family.[1]
